The Contractor Yard Acquires Building Materials Wholesale/Retail - Modern Distribution Management

The Contractor Yard Acquires Building Materials Wholesale/Retail

The Contractor Yard, Inc., Charlotte, NC, a supplier of building materials to professional builders and contractors in the southeastern U.S., acquired Building Materials Wholesale/Retail, Inc., a full-service supplier of drywall and related products. Based in Charlotte, NC, BMW operates five yards in Charlotte, Greensboro, Statesville, Wilmington and Fayetteville.

‘The acquisition of Building Materials Wholesale/Retail enhances The Contractor Yard’s product line and further strengthens our presence in the very attractive Carolinas market.’ said Contractor Yard President & COO Buddy Ables. ‘This acquisition is another important step toward achieving our aggressive growth objectives in this high-potential area.’

The Contractor Yard is a subsidiary of the Strober Organization. Currently, The Contractor Yard has more than 40 locations operating in 10 states primarily in the southeastern United States. As part of both Strober and Pro-Build Holdings, Inc., which is the largest professional building products distribution organization in the U.S., The Contractor Yard plans to actively seek opportunities to grow both organically and through additional acquisitions.

Pro-Build Holdings, which also includes the Lanoga Corporation within its portfolio, currently operates more than 400 lumber and building product distribution, manufacturing and assembly centers throughout the U.S.
