Global electrical distributor The Rexel Group, Paris, France, has acquired two more distributors in North America. The announcement follows the recent acquisition of GE Supply, GE’s electrical distribution business, which essentially doubled Rexel’s sales in the U.S.
Rexel acquired DH Supply, a U.S. distributor of electrical and telecommunications products based in Doraville, GA. With this acquisition, Rexel doubles its locations and sales in the greater Atlanta area, with expertise in telecommunications area. DH Supply has 115 employees at six branches with $70 million in 2005 sales. DH Supply’s customers include commercial contractors, industrial facilities, power utilities and telecommunications providers.
Rexel also acquired Kesco Electric Supply Limited, an electrical distributor in the Eastern Ontario market in Canada. Kesco, Peterborough, Ontario, had sales of $6.7 million (Canadian) in 2005.
Rexel is a global distributor of electrical parts and supplies. The group operates in 27 countries, with a network of more than 1,900 branches and employs 25,000 people.
Rexel’s U.S. holding company, International Electric Supply Corp. (IESC), Dallas, TX, was formed following Rexel Group’s recent acquisition of GE Supply. IESC oversees the separately managed and operated businesses of Rexel Inc. and GE Supply.
Rexel Canada Electrical Inc. operates under two networks, Nedco and Westburne.
