Applied Industrial Technologies, Cleveland, OH, reported sales for the third quarter 2006 increased 11.4% to $497.2 million from $446.5 million in the same period a year ago. Profit jumped to $19.9 million from $16.3 million in the same period a year ago.
For the nine months ended March 31, 2006, sales increased 10.5% to $1.397 billion from $1.264 billion in the same period last year. Profit was $52.1 million for the nine months up from $39,356 a year ago.
With more than 440 facilities and 4,500 employee-associates across North America, Applied Industrial Technologies is an industrial distributor that offers more than 2 million parts critical to the operations of MRO and OEM customers in several industries. In addition, Applied provides engineering, design and systems integration for industrial and fluid power applications, as well as customized mechanical, fabricated rubber and fluid power shop services. For its fiscal year ended June 30, 2005, Applied posted sales of $1.72 billion.
