Smart home products distributor and manufacturer Resideo Technologies announced that President and CEO Jay Geldmacher will retire from his executive and board roles in 2025.
Geldmacher will remain in his role until a successor is appointed, at which point he will retire from the board and transition to a senior advisor position to support a smooth handover.
“Jay’s collaborative partnership in the boardroom and strong leadership in driving structural improvements to the company’s operations leave Resideo far better positioned to achieve long-term profitable growth,” Resideo incoming Chairman Andrew Teich said in a Nov. 7 news release. “The board remains fully confident in the company’s strategy as well as its senior leadership team. Through our ongoing succession planning, the board is committed to appointing a new CEO who will continue to drive our ambitious vision forward.”
The company also announced that, effective today, board member and Vice-Chair Andrew Teich has been appointed chairman, succeeding Roger Fradin, who has stepped down after serving as chairman since 2018.
Drawing on his significant experience, Andy is the ideal person to assume the chair role and continue to work closely with other members of the board in connection with our CEO succession process that was announced today,” Fradin said.
Teich previously served as Resideo’s lead independent director from 2019 to June 2025 and currently chairs the Innovation and Technology Committee, while also serving on the Nominating and Governance and Compensation Committees.
Resideo announced its 2024 third quarter financial results on Nov. 7, showing total sales of $1.83 billion, up 18% year-over-year while net profit of $524 million was likewise up year-over-year.
At Resideo’s ADI Global Distribution unit, its 3Q sales of $1.1 billion increased 31% year-over-year with the earlier 2024 acquisition of Snap One accounting for most of the gain.
Security, audio/video and low-voltage products distributor ADI was No. 7 on MDM’s Top Distributor’s List for Electrical/Data/Security products.
