Swedish manufacturer Alfa Laval (STO: ALFA) has acquired U.S.-based Niagara Blower Co., a manufacturer of energy-efficient niche heat transfer solutions. The company’s products are engineered-to-order, and particularly suited for use in the oil and gas processing industries. They are also used in a wide range of other industries, such as power, food & beverage and pharmaceuticals.
Lars Renström, president and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group, said the acquisition further strengthens the company’s offering to the oil and gas processing industries in the U.S. and, gradually, on a global scale.
Niagara Blower Co. is located in Buffalo, NY. It had sales of SEK 425 million (US$64.7 million) in 2012.
Alfa Laval is a global provider of specialized products and engineering solutions based on its key technologies of heat transfer, separation and fluid handling. Alfa Laval plans to integrate Niagara Blower into the Energy & Environment segment, within the Process Technology Division.
