In December 2012 compared with November 2012, seasonally adjusted industrial production grew by 0.7 percent in the euro area (EA17) and by 0.5 percent in the EU27, according to estimates released by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. In November production fell by 0.7 percent and 0.6 percent respectively.
In December 2012 compared with December 2011, industrial production decreased by 2.4 percent in the euro area and by 2.3 percent in the EU27.
Compared with 2011, the average production index for 2012 dropped by 2.4 percent in the euro area and by 2.1 percent in the EU27.
