VWR International, LLC, Radnor, PA, a laboratory supplies distributor with 2011 revenues of $4 billion, has acquired KLEN International's mining supply business. Terms were not disclosed.

Based in Perth, Australia, KLEN is a diversified chemical distributor serving industrial customers.  VWR is acquiring the portion of the business that manufactures and distributes products used by labs that serve the precious metals mining industry.

"Strategically located in Western Australia, VWR's acquisition of KLEN adds to our existing global mining supply network of facilities in the U.S., Canada and Chile," said Ted Pulkownik, senior VP of strategy and corporate development, VWR.
