SPX Corp., Charlotte, NC, reported sales for the third quarter of $348.5 million, up 1 percent from the same period a year ago. Profit was $22.3 million, up from $1.9 million in the prior year.
HVAC sales for the quarter were $119.4 million, up 2.1 percent from a year ago.
Year-to-date sales decreased 3.6 percent year-over-year to $1 billion. Profit was $30.7 million, up from $0.8 million in the prior year.
