K-C Professional (KCP) — the professional workplace solutions segment of Texas-based supplier Kimberly-Clark — posted second-quarter sales of $887 million, an 11% increase year-over-year and 13% organic sales growth increase.
The sales growth in North America was driven by price and mix partially offset by volume, Kimberly-Clark officials said in the company’s 2023 2Q fiscal result statement published July 25.
KCP’s 2Q operating profit of $187 million jumped 120%, driven by what the company said was a continued focus on profitable growth and cost discipline.
Companywide, Kimberly-Clark recorded 2Q net sales of $5.1 billion, up 1% year-over-year, with organic sales growth of 5%, driven by a 9% increase in price and favorable product mix from ongoing revenue growth management programs and offset by a 3% decrease in volume.
“Our growth strategy is working, and given the strength of our first-half results, we’re raising our full-year outlook,” said Chairman and CEO Mike Hsu.
The company updated its 2023 outlook from 2-4% in organic sales to 3-5%, and it’s adjusted EPS compared to 2022 from 6-10% to 10-14%.
