Illinois Tool Works Inc. (NYSE:ITW), Glenview, IL, reported third-quarter 2017 sales were up 4 percent to $3.6 billion. Organic growth was 2 percent.
Organic revenue growth was positive in six of seven segments led by Specialty Products (5 percent), Welding (4 percent) and Construction (4 percent).
Year-to-date, sales were $10.7 billion, up about 5 percent from the prior-year period, with 2.7 percent organic growth. Organic growth by segment was 4.7 percent in Automotive OEM, 0.7 percent in Food Equipment, 3.5 percent in Test & Measurement and Electronics, 2.2 percent in Welding, 0.5 percent in Polymers and Fluids, 2.7 percent in Construction Products, and 3.1 percent in Specialty Products.
