MRO replacement parts distributor Motion agreed to acquire the assets of M.B. McKee Company.
Terms were not disclosed, but the transaction is expected to close at the end of January.
Founded in 1943, M.B. McKee is a family-owned distributor of mechanical bearings, belts, chain, conveyor systems/components, motors, drives and power transmission components. The company serves end markets such as industrial, commercial equipment, agriculture and textile. Lubbock, TX-based M.B. McKee operates from two other locations in Amarillo and Hereford with approximately 30 team members.
“The complementary product offering and customer-centric approach will supplement and extend our presence and scale in the region,” Motion President James Howe said in a Jan. 13 news release. “We are thrilled to welcome the talented M.B. McKee team to Motion and look forward to their contributions in the upcoming years.”
M.B. McKee President and majority owner Cindy Cole will oversee the business transition, while VP of Sales Kirk Cole and VP and partial owner Mark McKee will remain in their roles after the transition.

Motion made five acquisitions in 2024, including its most recent acquisition of Blairsville, PA-based International Conveyor and Rubber, completed on Dec. 3.
