On Aug. 1, The Home Depot subsidiary HD Supply closed its acquisition of Houston, Texas-based flooring supplier Redi Carpet.
Redi Carpet is a next-day flooring installer, focused exclusively on serving the multifamily industry. It operates 34 branches across the country.
According to information HD Supply provided to MDM, this is HD Supply’s first acquisition since it was acquired by The Home Depot in late 2020. Both businesses will continue to operate separately for now, company officials told MDM.
MDM’S SHIFT Conference, held Sept. 18-20 in Denver, brings together distribution leaders to learn and network across topics of sales & marketing, digital transformation, data analytics and talent management. Find more info here.
“Redi Carpet fills a critical gap in our offering, and we’re thrilled to be able to expand our offering of value-added services to our communities, particularly in the multifamily market,” HD Supply CEO Shane O’Kelly said. “We’re thrilled to welcome Redi Carpet associates to the HD Supply family and look forward to this new chapter filled with growth for our combined associates, customers and communities.”
HD Supply was re-acquired by The Home Depot in December 2020 for $8 billion after Home Depot had originally divested it to private equity in 2007.
