Nelson-Jameson (Marshfield, WI), a single-source distributor for food, dairy and beverage processing plants, opened its fifth U.S. distribution center in January in the south-central Idaho town of Jerome, ID, with a grand opening set for May 3.
The 45,000-square-foot facility is situated on 19 acres of land and encompasses about 1.5 million cubic feet of combined storage, office space, refrigerated storage areas and a service and maintenance area, the company detailed in an April 23 news release.
The DC features embedded energy-saving features that include insulated concrete tilt wall panels, LED lighting and occupancy sensors, high-efficiency HVAC systems and electronically-controlled warehouse ventilation.
The new facility is a relocation of Nelson-Jameson’s former Twin Falls, ID location. The company broke ground on the facility in September, 2022. At that time, the company shared that it had plans for a three-phase expansion in Jerome, with phase I as a 45,000-square-foot facility, followed by a Phase II facility of that same size, and a 10,000-SF Phase III facility.
Built to support the company’s year-over-year growth and strategic reach across the U.S., the Jerome facility is located at 2423 South Garfield Street, Jerome, ID 83338.
Nelson-Jameson’s portfolio includes more than 1,000 vendors and 78,000 curated products, the company noted. Its product range includes: lab equipment & supplies, cleaning supplies, food processing equipment, material handling, PPE & safety products, facility maintenance, packaging supplies and more.
“The Jerome distribution center grand opening signifies a key turning point in the company’s history,” Nelson-Jameson President Mike Rindy said in an April 23 news release. ”The center was built to carry Nelson-Jameson’s values forward — operating in an ethical manner with respect for people, the community and the environment, and upholding the highest standards of food quality and safety. At the same time, it marks a new era of technological advancement and enhanced service, and we’re excited to be celebrating this milestone in Jerome.”
