Distribution Solutions Group’s operating company TestEquity — a distributor test and measurement equipment, related industrial assembly supplies and tool kits — reached a deal to acquire ConRes Test Equipment (ConRes).
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Bedford, MA-based ConRes — a division of Continental Resources — is a provider of test and measure equipment, including: spectrum/signal analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes and other general-purpose equipment. Founded in 1962, the company generates roughly $12 million in annual sales.
“This acquisition mirrors a strategic capital purchase with high ROI, similar to purchasing a large fleet of used test and measurement equipment,” DSG Chairman and Chief Executive Bryan King said in an Oct. 3 news release. “We can immediately fold in the existing cash flows of ConRes TE, deepen relationships with top-tier national customers, and benefit from their Northeast calibration lab and sales resources, unlocking organic growth opportunities.
TestEquity is a distributor of test and measurement equipment, as well as industrial assembly supplies and tool kits from various manufacturer partners. The company serves a range of industries, including: technology, aerospace, defense, automotive, electronics, education, and healthcare.
“This acquisition is consistent with our focus to drive overall customer-intimacy by expanding and diversifying TestEquity’s test equipment offerings and value-add service capabilities in all of our end markets,” TestEquity President & CEO Russ Frazee said.
The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2024 and will be funded by DSG’s existing cash.
This news comes less than two weeks after DSG announced that fellow subsidiary Gexpro Services is set to acquire a distributor in Singapore.
DSG is comprised of MRO supplies distributor Lawson Products, TestEquity and industrial supplies distributor Gexpro. DSG was No. 25 on MDM’s Top Distributor’s List of Industrial Supplies and No. 18 for MRO.
