Scottsdale, Arizona-based security and audio-visual products distributor Resideo Technologies announced March 9 its acquisition of BTX Technologies, a fellow audio-visual products distributor in Hawthorne, New York. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1967, BTX is a distributor of professional audio, video, data communications and broadcast equipment. BTX also has a private brand portfolio, holds several patents for connectivity products and provides manufacturing services for custom broadcast fiber assemblies, panels and more, according to a news release. In addition to its headquarters in Hawthorne, BTX has warehouse locations in New York and Utah.
BTX will join Resideo’s ADI Global Distribution business, according to the release, and is the sixth acquisition for Resideo’s distribution business since 2020. Resideo was formed in 2018 when Honeywell spun off ADI along with its Homes and Distribution business. ADI remains a division of Resideo.
“Expansion at ADI is a key part of Resideo’s long-term strategy, and we continue to make targeted investments to increase our market reach and accelerate growth in our distribution business,” Resideo President and CEO Jay Geldmacher said in the release. “In line with our growth strategy, BTX broadens our offering across adjacent categories and through private brands while expanding our customer and supplier relationships.”
“Dealers depend on ADI to provide them with access to the latest products from the industry’s top brands,” ADI President Rob Aarnes said in the release. “We identified Pro AV as a growth category for ADI and our customers, and we are committed to providing the products, support, and services customers need to capitalize on new opportunities. BTX builds upon our previous acquisitions, enhances our competitive position, and furthers our goal of being the indispensable partner of choice in AV.”
