A new labor contract has been reached in St. Louis, MO, effectively ending a more than two-week strike by the union representing 42 workers at a Graybar service center.
On March 11, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 688 and Graybar — a top distributor of electrical, industrial, communications and data networking products distributor — reached a tentative labor agreement, which includes a 18% hourly wage increase over the course of the four-year agreement.
“Workers will also benefit from increased lead and second shift differential pay, along with a $1,500 ratification bonus,” Local 688 officials said in a statement, according to St. Louis CBS affiliate KMOV.
A Graybar spokesperson said in a statement emailed to MDM:
“After the union asked Graybar to return to the bargaining table, we are pleased to announce that the company has reached a tentative agreement with members of the Teamsters Local 688 in St. Louis. The agreement addresses the key concerns of both parties and provides a path forward that will benefit our employees, our customers, our company, and ultimately, the St. Louis community. We look forward to continuing our positive relationship with the Teamsters as we work together to achieve our shared goals.”
Graybar ranked as the No. 3 Electrical Distributor and No. 20 Industrial Distributor on MDM’s 2023 Top Distributors List.
