Dallas, TX-based electrical wholesale distributor City Electric Supply (CES) opened its sixth fulfillment center in North America, and first in Canada.

CES said the 157,000-square-foot facility in Toronto will be key to optimizing logistics and improving the speed and efficiency of product deliveries to branches and customers.

“After evaluating factors like branch density and logistics, it became clear that this new center would improve the company’s ability to service its northern branches quickly,” CES Director of Online North America Rich Antonaros said in an Oct. 15 news release.

The Toronto fulfillment center joins CES’s network of facilities in Jacksonville, FL; Charlotte, NC; Fort Worth, TX; Las Vegas, NV; and Indianapolis, IN. The company said these centers help CES fulfill orders within a day, reinforcing its “same-day is better than next-day” promise.

The Toronto facility is CES’s largest fulfillment center to date. The company said its size reflects increasing demand from branches and CES’s commitment to improving supply chain efficiency.

CES added that fulfillment centers have proven to be pivotal in the company’s growth, with branches using the first center seeing 47% faster growth within the first year.

“These centers are hubs of innovation and we’re working on even more enhancements, including an automated wire machine that will be introduced by early 2025,” Antonaros added. “This will significantly increase production capacity and ensure we can maintain our commitment to quick turnaround times.”

City Electric Supply was No. 8 on MDM’s 2024 Top Distributors List for Electrical, Data and Security products.
