Wire and cable product manufacturer Southwire announced on July 26 that it will open a customer service center in Fort Worth, Texas, next year to help streamline the company’s product offering to the Southwest and Midwest U.S.
The nearly 1.2 million square foot facility — which is part of the company’s long-term, billion-dollar-plus modernization strategy — will distribute products for the full suite of Southwire solutions, including business segments such as Commercial, Residential, Utility, Industrial and Tools, Components and Assembled Solutions (TCAS).
Southwire expects the facility to employ 250 workers, and include modernized storage solutions and automated material handling.
“A modern, automated facility in the center of the United States will provide world-class fill rates and on-time in-full deliveries for our customers,” said Southwire Chief Operating Officer Norman Adkins.
The facility is currently under construction in the 27,000-acre AllianceTexas industrial and mixed-used development, which includes 560 companies. Construction is expected to complete by the second quarter of 2024.
In June, Southwire also announced plans to increase its production capacity with the expansion of its facility in Florence, Alabama, and made organizational executive changes.
“At Southwire, we’re investing more than a billion dollars into modernization, integrating newer and better equipment, systems and technology into our operations to increase efficiency, enhance competitiveness and ensure the capability and capacity to support our strategic growth,” said Southwire’s President and CEO Rich Stinson.
