Construction contractor supplies distributor NEFCO announced its latest acquisition on Dec. 5 in the form of FASCO, a Houston-based specialty construction supply distributor.
It marks the 10th acquisition since 2017 for East Hartford, Connecticut-based NEFCO, and expands its branch network to 37 locations, including Texas branches in Dallas and Houston.
FASCO was founded in 1989 by Rick Raines as a STAFDA house specializing in fasteners and related products. He sold FASCO to Greg Malloch in 2014. Today, the company serves as a stocking distributor of a wide selection of construction fasteners, tools and supplies. It maintains 7,000 SKUs in inventory and a fleet of delivery trucks.
“FASCO is excited to join forces with NEFCO and expand our offerings throughout Texas”, said Greg Malloch, FASCO President. “FASCO is uniquely aligned with NEFCO’s S.H.A.R.P. model which will provide a great platform to grow our footprint in Texas along with the emphasis on serving both our customers and our employees”, Greg continued. “We are a family business looking to take the next steps in our evolution and NEFCO’s family business culture was a very important aspect in our decision to join the NEFCO team.”
It marks the third acquisition of 2023 for NEFCO. On Oct. 19, the company announced the addition of Spokane, Washington-based Edge Construction Supply. On April 4, NEFCO announced the addition of Phoenix-based Southwest Fastener.
“Joining forces with Greg Malloch and the FASCO team in Houston is a significant step for NEFCO,” said Matthew Gelles, NEFCO’s Chief Executive. “FASCO’s expertise in S.H.A.R.P. and their strong market presence in Houston will provide an ideal springboard for NEFCO to broaden our service offerings across the state of Texas. We look forward to leveraging FASCO’s local market knowledge and combining it with NEFCO’s renowned service, product expertise and supply chain proficiency as we partner with contractors across the state of Texas.”
