Chemical distributor Univar Inc. (NYSE: UNVR), Downers Grove, IL, has appointed Stephen Newlin as president and CEO, effective May 31. Newlin has worked in executive positions at Ecolab Inc. and Nalco Chemical Co.
The company also reported sales for the first quarter of $2 billion, down 13.1 percent compared to the prior-year quarter. The company reported a profit of $14 million, down 28.9 percent from $19.5 million the prior year.
