H.B. Fuller Co. (NYSE: FUL), St. Paul, MN, reported sales for the first quarter ended March 1 of $486 million, an increase of 1.3 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Organic sales grew 2 percent. Profit decreased 31 percent to $14.6 million.
"Organic revenue growth of 2 percent was below last quarter's results with strong revenue in Asia and Construction Products offset by weak revenue in Europe and slower than expected organic sales growth in the Americas through December, January and February.” said Jim Owens, president and CEO. “We are pleased with our ability to adapt and deliver bottom line results in the quarter as we manage significant internal projects and numerous external factors."
