(NYSE: CAS), Oak Brook, IL, a global distributor of specialty metal and plastic products, reported second-quarter sales of $136.5 million, up 4.4 percent from the same period a year ago. The company recorded a net loss for the period of $22.5 million, compared to a year-ago loss of $21.3 million.
Sales for the first six months were $272.4 million, down 7.5 percent year-over-year. The company recorded a net loss for the period of $36 million, compared to a year-ago loss of $58.1 million.
