Specialty building materials distribution giant US LBM acquired Homestead Building Systems, a building component manufacturer based in Oranga, VA.
Growing US LBM’s presence in key Virginia metropolitan areas, HBS produces and distributes turkey structural building components from its distribution center in Bristow, VA. The company was founded in 1996 and serves framing and building contractors for single-family and townhome projects throughout the Washington D.C., Richmond and Charlottesville metro areas.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, which gives US LBM two truss manufacturing facilities in Virginia. The company also operates five locations under the Barrons brand in the Washington D.C. area, which includes a truss facility, and two locations in the Richmond area under Massey Builders Supply.
“The team at Homestead Building Systems has built a strong reputation for providing top quality service and products to customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region,” US LBM President and CEO L.T. Gibson said in a March 4 news release. “We are excited to partner with Homestead Building Systems, and expand our truss and wall panel manufacturing capabilities to support the growing housing markets in the greater D.C. metro area and eastern Virginia.”
It’s the second acquisition in 2024 for US LBM, which added Traverse City, MI-based windows and doors distributor Old Mission Windows in early February.
US LBM was No. 3 on MDM’s 2023 Top Building Materials/Construction Distributors List.
