Swedish manufacturer Sandvik reported sales for the third quarter of SEK 20.4 billion (US$2.3 billion), a 7 percent decrease over the same period a year ago. Profit increased to SEK 609 million (US$68.3 million) from SEK 236 million (US$26.5million) the prior year.
For the first nine months, sales were SEK 61.9 billion (US$6.9 billion), down 10 percent from the prior-year period. Profit increased 53 percent to SEK 3.6 billion (US$0.4 million).
