Construction and contractor supply distributor NEFCO has expanded its services with the acquisition of Unistrut Midwest.
Terms were not disclosed, but the transaction was effective Dec. 20.
Cincinnati, OH-based Unistrut Midwest is a modular support system specialist distributor focused on pipe racks, off-site modules and equipment skids utilizing all-bolted solutions. The company specializes in turnkey secondary modular steel support solutions, offering services such as conceptual design, budgeting, engineering, BIM coordination and more.
“For many years we have been focused on being the leading solution provider for the (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) MEP trades with a core focus on MEP support & suspension products coupled engineering & fabrication solutions,” NEFCO President and CEO Matthew Gelles said in a Dec. 30 news release. “We’ve accomplished this through our SHARP product offering and our engineering divisions – NEFCO Engineered Supports and NEFCO Sturt Service, where we have four professional engineers on staff. With the addition of Unistrut Midwest, we have tripled down on our commitment to being the leading MEP support system solution provider.”
This marks NEFCO’s fifth acquisition of 2024, 11th since 2022 and its second-largest acquisition to date. The company said the acquisition of Unistrut Midwest nearly triples its “value-added services” and strengthens its position as a provider of MEP.
NEFCO now operates across 29 states and from 63 locations with the addition of Unistrut Midwest.
On Nov. 4, the company announced it acquired Total Tool Supply — NEFCO’s largest acquisition to date.
