Chicago-based gypsum wallboard and building materials distributor L&W Supply Corporation has acquired Old Fort Building Supply, the company announced April 24. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1983, Old Fort Building Supply is a full-line building materials distributor based in South Bend, Indiana. The company serves the residential, commercial and multifamily construction markets in northern Indiana and southwest Michigan.

The acquisition gives L&W Supply its ninth location in Indiana, according to a news release.

“We look forward to welcoming the Old Fort associates and customers to the L&W Supply family,” L&W Supply President Dan Piché said in the release. “This location increases our presence in a key market of Indiana.”

L&W Supply is a subsidiary of Beloit, Wisconsin-based roofing supplier ABC Supply, which acquired US LBM’s standalone wallboard divisions in January. The acquired businesses include Feldman Lumber, Richardson Gypsum, Rosen Materials, Wallboard Supply Company and Coastal Roofing Supply.

The interior product businesses of Feldman Lumber, Richardson Gypsum, Rosen Materials and Wallboard Supply Company are operating under L&W Supply, while Coastal Roofing Supply is operating under ABC Supply.

ABC Supply ranked No. 2 on MDM’s 2022 Top Building Materials/Construction Distributors list while US LBM was No. 3.
