Building materials manufacturer Louisiana-Pacific Corp. (NYSE: LPX), Nashville, TN, reported sales for the third quarter of $596 million, an increase of 28 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Profit was $65.6 million, compared to a loss of $26.5 million for the same quarter a year ago.
Year-to-date sales were $1.7 billion, up 17.8 percent over the prior-year period. Profit was $107.6 million, compared to a loss of $80.5 million for the same quarter a year ago.
The company also named Brad Southern, who previously served as executive vice president, to the newly created position of chief operating officer.
