Johnson Controls Inc. (NYSE: JCI), a Milwaukee, WI-based global multi-industrial company, reported sales for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30 of $9.5 billion, down 1 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Profit increased 115.2 percent to $383 million.
Building Efficiency sales in the quarter were $3.6 billion, 33 percent higher than the same quarter last year. Automotive Experience sales fell 19 percent to $4.4 billion, while Power Solutions sales increased 3 percent to $1.5 billion.
The company reported sales for the first nine months of $27.5 billion, down 3.4 percent from the prior-year period. Profit decreased 75 percent to $303 million.
