Specialty building products distributor GMS will expand its presence in southern Ontario, Canada, with the acquisition of Yvon Building Supply and its affiliated companies.
The transaction, expected to close in July, includes the acquisition of Yvon Building Supply, Yvon Insulation Corp., Yvon Insulation Windsor, Laminated Glass Technologies and Right Fit Foam Insulation. The aggregate purchase price of the deal will be up to $144.3 million.
The news comes weeks after GMS announced the acquisition of a California-based wallboard and steel framing distributor. It marks the company’s third deal of the year.
Yvon has served customers throughout Greater Toronto and Ontario for over 10 years and operates seven locations across the province. The company provides drywall, insulation, steel, ceilings and other complementary products and related services, including installed insulation. For the 12 months ended Feb. 29, Yvon generated net revenue of over $139.5 million.
“Reflecting the continued execution of our growth strategy, we look forward to this transaction expanding our product and service offerings, including further expanding our Complementary Products category, in the fast-growing Greater Toronto Area and throughout southern Ontario,” GMS President and CEO John Turner Jr. in a May 16 news release.
GMS ranked No. 9 in MDM’s 2023 Top Building Materials/Construction Distributors list.
