On Aug. 25, Tucker, Georgia-based specialty building products distributor GMS published its inaugural Corporate Social Responsibility Report to outline its commitments to environmental, social, and governance practices.
Highlights of the report include details on the company’s efforts to:
- Reduce the total recordable incident rate over the last two years;
- Establish and disclose Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emission baselines;
- Support its team members through recruitment, engagement and development efforts;
- Add battery-powered hydraulic cranes to GMS’s fleet and assess its opportunities to increase its LED lighting usage.

Turner, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of GMS. “We are committed to continuing to conduct business in a manner that aligns with our values, embodies responsible business practices, protects data used in our business, and supports our team.”
GMS ranks No. 9 for building materials/construction distributors on MDM’s 2023 Top Distributors Lists.
