Carlisle Companies Inc. (NYSE: CSL), Charlotte, NC, reported sales for the third quarter of $904.1 million, up 13 percent year-over-year. Profit increased to $87.3 million from $76.6 million in the third quarter 2013.
For the first nine months of the year, sales were $2.4 billion, up 8.8 percent over the prior-year period. Organic sales increased 8.5 percent. Profit increased 41.7 percent to $198.4 million.
Sales were up in all of our segments with exceptional organic sales growth at CCM and CIT," said David Roberts, president and CEO. "The double digit growth at both CCM (Carlisle construction materials) and CIT (Carlisle interconnect technologies) demonstrate healthy market demand as well as solid execution on selling initiatives."
Interconnect technology sales were up 11 percent. Brake & friction sales increased 4.8 percent in the quarter, while food service product sales were up 5.5 percent.
