Builders FirstSource Inc. (Nasdaq: BLDR), Dallas, TX, reported sales for the third quarter of $1.9 billion, up 7.6 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Profit was $39.8 million, down from $125.5 million the prior year.
For the first nine months, sales were $5.3 billion, up 9 percent over the same period in 2016. The company reported a profit of $81.5 million, down from $137.9 million the prior year.
