Builders FirstSource Inc. (Nasdaq: BLDR), Dallas, TX, reported sales for the first quarter of $1.4 billion, up 9.1 percent compared to the same period a year ago on a pro forma basis, adjusted to include the acquisition of ProBuild. On a pro forma basis, the company reported a loss of $11.6 million, compared to a loss of $55.9 million the prior year.
Unadjusted sales for the first quarter were $1.4 billion, nearly triple sales of $371 million during the same period a year ago. The company reported a loss of $17 million for the quarter, compared to a loss of $7.1 million the prior year.
