Builders FirstSource Inc. (Nasdaq: BLDR), Dallas, TX, reported sales for the second quarter of $1.7 billion, up 3.3 percent compared to the same period a year ago on a pro forma basis, adjusted to include the acquisition of ProBuild. On a pro forma basis, the company reported a profit of $35.3 million, up 91.8 percent from $18.4 million the prior year.
Unadjusted sales for the second quarter were more than triple the sales of $461.5 million during the same period a year ago. The company reported an unadjusted profit of $29.4 million for the quarter, compared to a profit of $3.6 million the prior year.
For the first six months, the company reported sales of $3.1 billion, up 5.9 percent compared to the same period a year ago on a pro forma basis. On a pro forma basis, the company reported a profit of $23.7 million, compared to a loss of $37.5 million the prior year.
