Builders FirstSource Inc. (Nasdaq: BLDR), Dallas, TX, reported sales for the third quarter of $1.7 billion, up 3.1 percent compared to the same period a year ago on a pro forma basis, adjusted to include the acquisition of ProBuild. On a pro forma basis, profit was $69.2 million, up from $34.8 million the prior year.
Unadjusted sales for the third quarter of $1.7 billion increased 37 percent in the quarter. The company reported a profit of $125.5 million for the quarter, compared to a loss of $8.7 million the prior year.
For the first nine months, unadjusted sales of $4.8 billion more than doubled. The company reported a profit of $137.9 million, up from a loss of $12.3 million the prior year.
