Builders FirstSource, Inc. (Nasdaq: BLDR), Dallas, TX, reported sales for the third quarter of $434.9 million, up 7.9 percent over the same period a year ago. Excluding acquisition, sales were up 6.6 percent, due to increased sales volume.
Profit for the building products company fell 34 percent to $$8.5 million.
For the first nine months, sales were $1.2 billion, up 8 percent over the prior-year period. Profit was $15. 7 million, compared to a year-ago loss of $47.2 million.
