Boise Cascade Company (NYSE: BCC), Boise, ID, reported second-quarter sales of $1 billion, up 9 percent from the same period a year ago. Profit fell 5 percent to $19.2 million.
Building materials distribution segment sales were $850 million, up 11.5 percent year-over-year. Wood products segment sales were $346.4 million, up 1.9 percent.
For the six months ended June 30, sales were $1.9 billion, up 9 percent over the prior-year period. Profit fell 15.2 percent to $24.8 million.
