Building products distributor BlueLinx Holdings opened a greenfield distribution center in Portland, OR.
The new facility will distribute a range of specialty products and complementary structural products that support the company’s profitable sales growth strategy.
The Marietta, GA-based company said the DC will further complement its acquisition and integration of Vandermeer Forest Products from October 2022.
“Our new Portland distribution center reflects our commitment to expanding our geographic footprint through greenfield distribution centers,” BlueLinx CEO Shyam Reddy said in a Nov. 4 news release. “This strategically positioned operation will help us meet increasing demand in the Pacific Northwest by efficiently delivering building products where and when our customers need them in Portland and nearby cities, while furthering our desire to be the industry’s two-step building products distributor of choice in more markets across the country.”
BlueLinx added that its expansion in the Pacific Northwest broadens the company’s reach, enhancing customer service and driving growth in new markets.
The company — No. 12 on MDM’s Top Distributors List of Building Materials/Construction— reported its 2024 3Q financial results on Oct. 29.
