Herndon, VA-based roofing and other building supplies distributor Beacon will acquire Denver-based specialty waterproofing distributor Smalley & Company.
Founded in 1967, Smalley & Company provides contractors, design professionals and owners with tailored sealant and waterproofing solutions, particularly in the new construction and restoration markets.
It has 11 locations in Colorado, Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah.
“The team’s technical know-how is at the top of the industry, and we look forward to closing this acquisition, so that we can welcome Smalley employees to Beacon and begin serving customers with our expanded products and services,” said Martin Harrell, Beacon’s Division President of Waterproofing in an April 2 news release.
Smalley is a privately held company owned by an Employee Stock Ownership Plan and Trust.
Beacon — No. 6 on MDM’s 2023 Top Building Materials/Construction Distributors List —reported record sales ($9.12 billion) in 2023 thanks to contributions of acquired branches and greenfields.
