Beacon Roofing Supply Inc. (NASDAQ: BECN), Peabody, MA, reported sales for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30 of $718.2 million, an 8.3 percent increase over the same period a year ago. Profit increased 5.8 percent to $28.3 million.
The company released third-quarter earnings about a week after announcing its agreement to acquire Roofing Supply Group, Dallas, TX, from investment firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice for $1.1 billion
For the first nine months, sales were $1.7 billion, up 7.9 percent over the same period a year ago. Profit was $31.5 million, up 6.2 percent year-over-year.
