Beacon Roofing Supply Inc. (NASDAQ: BECN), Peabody, MA, reported sales for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30, 2014 of $663.4 million, a 5.8 percent increase over the same period a year ago. Organic sales increased 1.5 percent. Profit decreased 1.3 percent to $26.8 million.
About half of the company’s growth in the quarter came from new branch openings.
For the first nine months, sales were $1.6 billion, up 2.7 percent over the same period a year ago. Profit was $29.6 million, down 34.4 percent year-over-year.
