Building materials distributor Beacon has further expanded its presence in the U.S. Midwest via the acquisition of Omaha, NE-based General Siding Supply.
General Siding is a 50-year-old distributor of siding, windows and doors to Midwest contractors from five locations, including three in Nebraska (Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island); one in Sioux City, IA; and one in West Fargo, ND.
“Beacon is a great place to work, and our employees are excited to join the team. Our customers will benefit from combining our product catalog and expertise,” General Siding President Jeff Spanheimer said in an April 15 news release. “They will also gain access to Beacon PRO+ for online ordering and delivery tracking.”
It marks Beacon’s fourth acquisition announced in 2024, of which it has completed three. It has also opened five new locations so far this year. The company was No. 6 on MDM’s 2023 Top Building Materials/Construction Distributors List.
“This acquisition deepens our complementary building product offering and adds branch locations that expand our branch network in key markets,” added Bill Sarvis, Beacon’s Midwest Regional Vice President. “The Spanheimer family’s business has a long-standing reputation as siding specialists with unparalleled technical knowledge and service reliability. We are proud to have them join Team Beacon.”
Beacon currently operates over 540 branches throughout the U.S. and Canada, serving a base of nearly 100,000 customers.
