On Oct. 2, construction and building materials distributor Beacon announced it completed the acquisition of waterproofing distributor Garvin Construction Products based in Medford, Massachusetts.
For over 70 years Garvin has served design professionals, contractors and owners with complete building envelope solutions including waterproofing, restoration, glass, tinting and glazing. In addition to its Medford location, the company has locations in North Haven, Conneticut, Beltsville, Maryland, Carlstadt, New Jersey, and Long Island City, New York.
“Joining Beacon and its growing waterproofing division will enable us to continue serving our loyal customers and provide them additional products and services,” said George Bukuras, Garvin’s President and CEO, in a news release.
Beacon’s building envelope capabilities are national following the acquisition of Coastal Construction Products and Whitney Building Products in 2022, which added to the company’s footprint for residential and commercial waterproofing products and expertise.
In line with the company’s plan to grow above market by expanding its footprint and complementary product offering, Beacon has completed eight acquisitions and opened 16 new greenfield locations to date in 2023. Most recently, Beacon acquired New York-based S&H Building Material Corporation and Missouri-based All American Vinyl Siding Supply.
On MDM’s 2023 Top Distributors Lists, the company ranks No. 6 on the Top Building Materials/Construction Distributors List, with $8.4 billion in 2022 revenue.
