Beacon Roofing Supply Inc. (NASDAQ: BECN), Peabody, MA, reported sales for the fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 31 of $976.5 million, a 63.8 percent increase from the previous year. Excluding acquisitions, sales increased 11.8 percent for the quarter. Profit decreased 44.9 percent to $7.1 million.
During the quarter, the company completed four acquisitions: Roofing Supply Group, RCI Roofing Supply, Roofing & Insulation Supply and Statewide Wholesale.
"For our seventh consecutive quarter, all three lines of business grew over the prior year, with residential leading the way with 76.6 percent growth," said Paul Isabella, president & CEO. "The additions of RCI, RIS and Statewide in December show that we have the financial and operational capacity to add high-quality companies to our team, and I expect that trend to continue."
