Retailer-owned hardware cooperative Ace Hardware Corp., Oak Brook, IL, reported first-quarter sales of $1.3 billion, a 6 percent increase compared to the first quarter of 2017. Profit was $11.9 million, compared to $16.4 million in the year-ago period.
A 34 percent increase in sales from Acehardware.com combined with growth from existing Ace retailers fueled the strong sales results, said Ace President and CEO John Venhuizen.
