Later this month, building materials supplier 84 Lumber will open a new facility in Winter Haven, FL, to serve as the company’s primary component plant in the state.
The company will produce roof and floor trusses at the 80,000-square-foot facility and employ a staff of more than 80 associates at the plant, which will cover supply of the central Florida market, including Tampa and Orlando, as well as the surrounding areas.
Florida has historically been a strong market for 84 Lumber, having “seen dramatic economic growth in recent years,” according to the White Haven plant’s General Manager Jim McMahon in a Jan. 18 news release. This location will help meet customer demand, offer increase service options to customers and generate new business, company officials said.
“Florida is an area where we are targeting immense growth,” said 84 Lumber Vice President of Installed Sales and Manufacturing Ken Kucera. “This new facility will allow us the capacity to not only keep up with market demands but also expand our customer base.”
84 Lumber was No. 4 on MDM’s 2023 Top Building Materials/Construction Supplies Distributors List.
In addition to this new truss plant, 84 Lumber opened truss plants near Atlanta, Georgia and Columbia, South Carolina; a new door shop in Denver, Colorado; and opening new stores in the state of California.
