Privately-held building materials distributor 84 Lumber announced Nov. 15 that it has expanded with a trio of new branch stores in California, and that the company will soon open a pair of component factories.
The Eighty Four, Pennsylvania-based company — No. 4 on MDM’s 2023 Top Building Materials/Construction Supplies Distributors List — said it has opened new stores in Stockton, Lancaster and Riverside, California. Meanwhile, California expansion plans also include a new truss plant in Bakersfield, as well as a framing yard there.
These new sites, along with already established stores in Bakersfield, Clovis and Beaumont, bring 84 Lumber’s presence to eight total locations in the Golden State.
“The new stores and component plant are an example of 84 Lumber’s dedication and continued commitment to better serve our customers and communities,” 84 Lumber Chief Operations Officer Frank Cicero said in a news release. “I’m excited to watch these stores grow and develop over the next five years. 84 Lumber is committed to California, and we look forward to providing more opportunities for our associates in these markets.”
The company added that it will soon expand a component plant in Yuma, Arizona to service southern California, while plans in place for a new store in Reno, Nevada and the Salinas, California coastal area.
84 Lumber currently operates 310 facilities, which include 234 stores, 14 component plants, 28 engineered wood product centers and 34 door shops.
