Bloomfield Hills, Michigan-based ARCH Cutting Tools Corp. announced Jan. 30 its acquisition of Custom Carbide Cutter Inc. (CCCI), a manufacturer of cutting tools in Cincinnati, Ohio. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1983, CCCI manufactures cutting tools used in the automotive and aerospace industries, as well as at shipyards and medical facilities. CCCI will complement ARCH’s offerings, ARCH Cutting Tools divisional president Jeff Cederstrom said in a news release. ARCH Cutting Tools, a subsidiary of ARCH Global Precision, serves the medical, aerospace, defense, automotive, energy, agriculture and general industrial markets.

“We are excited to offer these additional domestic manufacturing capabilities to the growing ARCH customer base, especially the micro tool application expertise, as this is a rapidly expanding segment of the industry,” Cederstrom said.

“The acquisition by ARCH Cutting Tools will help us keep pace with this ever-changing industry,” CCCI president Steve Long said in the release. “It will give us access to additional support and guidance for our highly-skilled employees and help us continue developing our manufacturing processes.”
