Bluon Inc. and Sera Systems Inc., two software companies serving the HVAC industry, announced March 23 they plan to “join forces” and integrate their platforms.
Irvine, California-based Bluon’s application connects HVAC contractors, technicians and local brick-and-mortar distributors, allowing for the quick exchange of information such as which parts are needed for a job. Meanwhile, the dispatching and scheduling software from Grapevine, Texas-based Sera automatically assigns the right HVAC tech based on priority, capability and availability, increasing workforce efficiency.
“From the very beginning, Sera was developed to bring efficiencies to all areas of a contractor’s business,” Sera founder and CEO Billy Stevens said in a news release. “With Bluon, we are realizing efficiencies we never thought possible.”
Bluon and Sera plan to integrate their platforms, which will create the first comprehensive solution connecting contractors up and down the supply chain, according to the release.
“This integration is laying the foundation for a future where contractors, small and large, won’t be charged a penny to have access to a suite of services and best-in-class software tools,” Bluon founder and CEO Peter Capuciati said in the release.
Bluon and Sera are encouraging each other’s customers to adopt both platforms to “gain immediate and meaningful benefit during the 2023 season” and provide “valuable insights and feedback to inform the full integration” of the two platforms, the release said.
MDM Executive Editor Mike Hockett interviewed Bluon’s Capuciati in an MDM Podcast this past September, where the two discussed the interesting roots of the Bluon platform and how its software helps reduce friction between HVAC distributors and technicians.
