The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) plans to file a lawsuit alleging Amazon favors and awards its online merchants for using its logistics services, according to a June 29 Bloomberg report.
The antitrust suit is based on evidence the FTC has collected that suggests Amazon disadvantages third-party sellers who do not pay for and utilize Amazon’s services such as warehousing, shipping, and advertising.
Bloomberg reports that the FTC sent a notice of the initial investigation into the issue to Amazon in 2019.
